Our Practicum Students
Yovana Cooper
Yovana is a born and raised Yukoner currently working through the practicum portion of her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Social Science with a major in Psychology through the University of Victoria. Her third and fourth year focused heavily on child and adolescent development.
Her current work experience and background is with children and youth providing support with communication skills.
Chantel Goodman
Chantel has called the Yukon home for over 10 years. She is currently completing the final classes of her Master of Counselling degree through Athabasca University. Most of her professional experience has been in education, where she has taught in Mexico, Vancouver, and the Yukon. In recent years, her work has focused on supporting high school students in special education.
Chantel is passionate about working with young people and their families. She strives to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, strengths, and challenges.
When she’s not studying, Chantel enjoys playing hockey, reading, and spending time with her young family.
