Play Therapist

This position could be ideal for someone looking to work full or part-time with children and their families, who is either a certified counsellor or registered psychologist. You must have a master's degree in psychology, counselling, or clinical social work. Those who are eligible to register as a psychologist or counsellor and who would need supervision, are also encouraged to apply as supervision can be provided.

This is a flexible position up to 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Able to work weekdays and some evenings (3-4 days);

  • Training and/or certification in play therapy;

  • Familiar with the play therapy dimensions model and able to use a variety of play therapy modalities;

  • Sound experience and training in complex trauma, working with a wide age range of children and adolescents, and working with First Nations populations

  • Familiar with and able to provide therapy for a wide range of issues

  • EMDR training or certification is an asset



  • Current registration to practice as a psychologist/counsellor or eligibility and desire to register

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

  • Written and verbal French language fluency is an asset

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office

  • Professional liability insurance coverage of $2,000,000

  • Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector search

  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
